This is so appropriate in my opinion.
It’s the 7th day since the governor announced there would be no “onsite instruction.”
And it’s Sunday.
Do you know what Sundays & 7th days have in common?
“By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.” Genesis 2:2
And then as we sat in the living room to watch as church live streamed, Bro. Dustin encouraged us to use this time to rest.
Rest is a very hard concept for me.
I have to be doing something or I go a little stir-crazy.
But in the same sense, it’s a rest away from “things” and not necessarily all physical rest.
My children are young, so we are resting together from the outside world.
Resting away from the rushing.
Then there’s true physical rest.
There is rocking your babies to sleep.
There is sitting to watch Disney movies in the afternoon.
There is laying down for morning naps just because.
There is rest.
Yes there is work and things to be done for my job, but inbetween the chaos there is time for rest.
So that’s what we did.
We watched The Jungle Book.
We took late morning bubble baths.
We had Sunday lunch as usual.
We stayed to play and nap and eat chocolate cobbler.
We didn’t go home until late in the afternoon.
We played at home.
We had roast & veggies for supper at the table.
We had cookies & Little Debbies for desserts.
We watched My Little Pony.
